JESHUA: ON A COURSE IN MIRACLES

Greetings to you this day. I am Jeshua. And I have come to speak with you this day about a controversy that you seem to be having in your, as you call it, Course in Miracles community. For there are a large number of you who have read A Course in Miracles, and who find yourselves desiring to believe in the words I have placed there, and to make them part of your lives. All that is well and good. That is why I gave you this Course in Miracles in the first place.

However, be aware at the outset, that A Course in Miracles is nothing more than a collection of words, words which by their very definition must be perceived, words which can generate an experience if you open yourself to it, but words nevertheless. And I have told you so well, words do not contain the essence of truth.

You are struggling right now because you look out at your brothers and sisters, especially in your Course in Miracles community, as you call it -- you look out at your brothers and sisters and are wont to see fear. And it appears to you now that there is perhaps one man who is afraid and who would need to protect this Course in Miracles, who would maintain its integrity (whatever that means), who would want to be certain that it would not be misinterpreted by other members of the Course in Miracles community.
If you ever feel the need to defend anything, it must be because you are afraid.

And in that belief the actions would appear to you to be fear. For have I not told you, if you ever feel the need to defend anything, you are but attacking yourself. If you ever feel the need to defend anything, it must be because you are afraid. And that is true.

Does this mean that I, Jeshua, have given you license to look at one of your brothers and label him as being afraid? Hear me well. When you pause into your silence and are able to hear the Voice of the Holy Spirit, that Voice will never speak to you of fear. The Holy Spirit can not see fear. The Holy Spirit only sees love, sees only the Love of God. For that, in truth, is all that exists in all of creation.

If you look out at your world and see fear, in whatever form -- if you see fear in the form of violence, if you see fear in the form of anger, if you see fear in the form of jealousy, if you see fear in the need to protect, even to protect this Course in Miracles which you cherish, if you see fear anywhere, I promise you that you are not hearing completely the Voice of the Holy Spirit. For It could not speak to you of fear.

Now, hear me well. For this is most important. If you look out at your brother, and see fear, the fear that you look upon must be your own. If you look out at your world and see fear, the fear that you look upon must be your own. For in the absence of fear, all that you will see is love. As I have said so many times, that is, indeed, all that exists.

What if you look out at the happenings relating to your precious Course in Miracles and see fear? Then, hear me well, you are afraid. And so you need to pause in this moment and say, "What is it that I fear?"

If you look out at your world and see fear, the fear that you look upon must be your own.
And I will tell you what it is that, almost to the person, you fear. Insofar as you do indeed cherish and love A Course in Miracles, it is because you have come to believe that it is a collection of my words (Jeshua, Jesus) and that in first translation (with some editing), you can rely upon it to be true. And you are desperate for that to be the case.

In this world of illusion, which is not real, and which matters not -- in this world of perception where knowledge cannot fall upon your being -- in this world you are desperate for something which you can hold to as an inviolable standard. And most of you have come with great passion to believe that the Course is true, every word.

And when you find that the words that I gave to the scribe have been edited and changed in many places, you react. And your reaction is not one of peace. Therefore it must be of fear. And your reaction is your fear that perhaps this Course in Miracles is not totally true, as you so much want it to be.

For do you not sit around in your study groups and read the words that I have placed in A Course in Miracles and discuss them as if they were the truth, and then try to discern what they mean. Can you hear that? Do you not sit in your study groups, go to your seminars and workshops and conference, and read your books, all for the purpose of assuming that the words are true and then trying to discern what they mean? And if someone were to come to you and say, "There are parts of this Course that have been changed and are not completely true," then what would do?

Let me tell something that is true. If I could regive to you this Course in Miracles, not in shorthand, but in auditory tape as I am doing now, and give it to you in its entirety so that you could transcribe it and know that every word was perfectly transcribed, and you could then come to say, "Now I know that this Course is true," what would happen? A hundred of you would read one sentence, or more, of these words which you all agreed were the truth, and then you would still sit in your study groups, go to your seminars, read and write your books, and talk about, in all of them, what do the words mean?
Hear me well. For this is true. If one hundred of you read a sentence that you knew to be true in words, one hundred of you would have his own perception, each different from the others. And so you see, and this is most important, it doesn't matter whether or not A Course in Miracles is completely true, just as it does not matter if you use, as you would discuss A Course in Miracles, the exact terminology that I placed in it. Are you bound to use the terms that appear on the printed pages of your Course? And the answer is of course not.

If one hundred of you read a sentence that you knew to be true in words, one hundred of you would have his own perception, each different from the others.

And what is one of your brothers, albeit in love, whether you know it or not, whether he knows it or not, says, "You can only use the words of the Course in very specific and limited circumstances"? What are you to do? Have you been handicapped by that?

This is what you are to do. You are to reread A Course in Miracles, if you desire, and realize that through it all I am speaking to you about finding the peace of God. And in the Bible it says, truly, that the peace of God goes beyond understanding. Can you hear those words this day? For they remain true, and shall always be so, as long as perception exists. This Course in Miracles is about helping you to discover within yourself that which is always there the peace of God.

The peace of God does not come in words and does not arise out of discussion and the use of specific terminology. The peace of God must arise out of the language of your inner wisdom. The peace of God must arise out of the language of your inner knowing. You may call it, if you wish, the language of the heart. So is it perhaps time for you to open to the fact that it does not matter whether or not A Course in Miracles is completely and exactly true? It does not matter whether it has been edited. It does not matter whether there are first and second editions that differ in some spots. It does not matter if there is another version, pre-editing, which you wish to look upon and claim to be more true. None of that matters. What matters is the essence of that which I have spoken to you in A Course in Miracles.

Does that mean that you should stop discussing A Course in Miracles? Does it mean you should stop doing your seminars and workshops and study groups and writing and reading your books? Not necessarily. Does it mean that you should anew look upon A Course in Miracles as a collection of words that you will perceive in your humanness, and whose sole purpose is to help you to come to the experience of the peace of God?

And how do you come to that peace? By hearing only the Voice of the Holy Spirit, only the Voice of Truth. And the Voice of the Holy Spirit will grant you a vision that will let you look at your world and see it in a fashion different from what you have ever seen before. You will experience essence. You will experience light, the Great Rays, if you will. You will see beyond the form, and in that seeing will realize that the form matters not.

The purpose of A Course in Miracles is for you to, in a moment of joy, toss it aside and go beyond it to the experience of the peace of God.
The form that matters not includes all of this world, space and time, your bodies, your brains, the thoughts you think you think, all of the words that have ever been written or read, including the words of A Course in Miracles. Hear me well. The purpose of A Course in Miracles is for you to, in a moment of joy, toss it aside and go beyond it to the experience of the peace of God. In the moment of your knowing, A Course in Miracles shall become irrelevant. Hear me well.

So what if what looks to you like another man's fear would seem to demand that you modify the words you use as you seek the peace of God? What if what looks like another man's fear would ask you to begin to move to the level of experience and use whatever tools you have to take you there? What if what looks like another man's fear says to you, "It is time not to be dependent upon what you are desperate to call truth, but to let the words go and realize that the truth must lie far beyond any words that were ever written"?

What if? What if? I do not answer the question. For the answer for each of you comes from within, in your silence, as you choose to hear the Voice of God. In your own fear, you are wont to ask for specifics, and especially if you could put me on the stand, you would want to ask specifics. Did I order certain people to copyright A Course in Miracles? Did I order them not to do so? Was it my intent that any of this should happen? Did I plan that the events of these days would one day happen just as they are? Have I instructed beings to protect A Course in Miracles?

And I choose not to address any of those issues, because, hear me well, none of them matter at all. If any of the events of your days cause you to react, to be upset, to wonder, to be afraid, realize, as I have told you, that you are looking not at the face of your brother's fear, but at the face of your own.

And thus it is that all things are lessons that God would have you learn. For contained within your own fear must be the lessons of Love. And as you open to those, as you open to the Voice of the Holy Spirit, your fear will disappear. And all of your concerns will pass away.

Is A Course in Miracles exactly true? Hear me well, once again. It does not matter. It does not matter. It is that simple. And that is all. In your desperateness for it to be true, you are but looking at your own fear. In your need to have it, or something, be a standard of truth that you can rely upon in this world, you but look upon your own fear.

[T]here is no standard of truth in the world of illusion, which you can rely upon.
Hear me well. There is no standard of truth in the world of illusion, which you can rely upon. Nor should there be. This is a world of perception, and of illusion. This world is not true. This I have told you. And in your desire to make any aspect of it completely true, you are but wanting this world to be true. In your same desperateness to have a collection of words be true, what you are doing is desiring that your ego, which is not real and which does not exist, which is but illusion -- you are desiring for your ego to be able to discern the truth and to lead you to the peace of God. And can you not laugh as I say those words. For how many times have you me say, that is not possible.
The level of your words, the level of consciousness, is indeed the domain of the ego. This I have told you. So as you approach your days and nights and what you call the future, fear not. And by that I mean, do not look for a standard of truth, including A Course in Miracles. For any collection of words but leads you to perception, which will differ from the perception of your brother. That is an absolute fact. That is the nature of this world of space and time.

[D]o not look for a standard of truth, including A Course in Miracles. For any collection of words but leads you to perception, which will differ from the perception of your brother.

Fear not that the times are perhaps guiding you closer and closer to the language of your inner wisdom, to the language of your inner knowing. Fear not that you do have a guide that will not speak to you of this world, but will simply bring you in your silence to the awareness of the peace of God. Fear not that the Holy Spirit is hungering to bring you a vision of a new world. Fear not that when you open to it, the world that you know will, in the twinkling of an eye, pass away, and be gone. And even though that is, whether you know it or not, a great source of terror for you, fear not.
[R]emember my words, which are true this day and shall always be true. Fear not. I shall always be with you. And I shall not leave you comfortless.

For the times are at hand when, with celebration, you will come to that place. And in your struggles, in your contemplating, in your wondering "What shall we do in these days?", remember my words, which are true this day and shall always be true. Fear not. I shall always be with you. And I shall not leave you comfortless.

My blessings upon you all. That is all.
