A COURSE IN MIRACLES
EXCERPTS REVEALING THE IDENTITY
OF JESUS AS AUTHOR
(Historical and familiar references
)

A Course in Miracles contains throughout the text numerous statments, written in the first person singular, that unerringly point to the historical Jesus as the author of the material. The following are a selection of the most striking of these:

"No man cometh unto the Father but by me" does not mean that I am in any way separate or different from you except in time, and time does not really exist.(T-1.II. 4:1)

My devotion to my brothers has placed me in charge of the Sonship, which I render complete because I share it. This may appear to contradict the statement "I and my Father are one," but there are two parts to the statement in recognition that the Father is greater. (T-1.II. 4:6-7)

I have been correctly referred to as "the lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world," but those who represent the lamb as blood-stained do not understand the meaning of the symbol. Correctly understood, it is a very simple symbol that speaks of my innocence. The lion and the lamb lying down together symbolize that strength and innocence are not in conflict, but naturally live in peace. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" is another way of saying the same thing. (T-3.I. 5:1-4).

The journey to the cross should be the last "useless journey." Do not dwell upon it, but dismiss it as accomplished. If you can accept it as your own last useless journey, you are also free to join my resurrection.(T-4.IN.3:1-3)

I raised the dead by knowing that life is an eternal attribute of everything that the living God created.(T-4.IV. 11:7)

The Bible says, "May the mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus," and uses this as a blessing. It is the blessing of miracle-mindedness. It asks that you may think as I thought, joining with me in Christ thinking.(T-5.I. 3:4-6)

When I said "I am come as a light into the world," I meant that I came to share the light with you.(T-5.VI. 11:1)

My brothers slept during the so-called "agony in the garden," but I could not be angry with them because I knew I could not <be> abandoned.(T-6.I. 7:6)

I elected, for your sake and mine, to demonstrate that the most outrageous assault, as judged by the ego, does not matter. As the world judges these things, but not as God knows them, I was betrayed, abandoned, beaten, torn, and finally killed. It was clear that this was only because of the projection of others onto me, since I had not harmed anyone and had healed many.(T-6.I. 9:1-3)

If the Apostles had not felt guilty, they never could have quoted me as saying, "I come not to bring peace but a sword." This is clearly the opposite of everything I taught. Nor could they have described my reactions to Judas as they did, if they had really understood me.(T-6.I.15:2-4)

I could not have said, "Betrayest thou the Son of Man with a kiss?" unless I believed in betrayal. The whole message of the crucifixion was simply that I did not. The "punishment" I was said to have called forth upon Judas was a similar mistake. Judas was my brother and a Son of God, as much a part of the Sonship as myself. Was it likely that I would condemn him when I was ready to demonstrate that c condemnation is impossible?(T-6.I.15:5-9)

When I said "I am with you always," I meant it literally. I am not absent to anyone in any situation. Because I am always with you, you are the way, the truth and the life. You did not make this power, any more than I did.(T-7.III. 1:7-10)

When I said, "All power and glory are yours because the Kingdom is His," this is what I meant: The Will of God is without limit, and all power and glory lie within it.(T-8.II. 7:1)

I said that I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. That is why I am the light of the world.(T-8.IV. 2:4-5)

When I said, "My peace I give unto you," I meant it. Peace comes from God through me to you.(T-10.III. 6:6-7)

I and my Father are one with you, for you are part of us.(T-11.I. 2:5)

That is what I meant when I said, "Blessed are ye who have not seen and still believe," for those who believe in the resurrection will see it.(T-11.VI. 1:5)

I once asked you to sell all you have and give to the poor and follow me. This is what I meant: If you have no investment in anything in this world, you can teach the poor where their treasure is.(T-12.III. 1:1-2)

You may have taught freedom, but you have not learned how to be free. I said earlier, "By their fruits ye shall know them, and they shall know themselves." (T-16.III. 2:1-2)
